The Story
Appreciative Inquiry (AI) is a participatory and strength-based dialogue process for social change, community transformation, and organisational development. Story-telling is a key element in AI that makes it relevant to all kinds of organisations, from grass roots community organisers to fortune 500 CEOs. Jeremy Simons will reflect on over a decade of using AI in a variety of contexts, from indigenous education in remote villages, to community health initiatives, and justice reform in the Philippines and the United States.

National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies Student and Community Association is a graduate student club at the University of Otago. The club is grounded in bi-cultural and multi-cultural values and principles, the club support students studying at the National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies (NCPACS) and engage the NCPACS, the wider university, and the community in justice, peace, and conflict transformation efforts, projects and initiatives.
About Jeremy Simons
Jeremy Simons has 20 years of community development and peacebuilding experience and has just completed his PhD on the customary justice advocacy of Lumad indigenous peace activists in Mindanao, Philippines. Prior to his work in the Philippines, he was part of a team that established the first urban, public school-based restorative justice discipline initiative in Denver, Colorado (USA).
