About Kumu Ramsay Taum
Kumu Ramsay Taum is the founder and president of the Hawaii based Life Enhancement Institute (LEI) of the Pacific LLC, Cultural Sustainability Planner at PBR HAWAII & Associates, and serves as the Director and Program Coordinator of the Pacific Islands Leadership Institute (PILI) at HPU, and was recently appointed Executive Director of the Hawaii Institute for Public Affairs (HIPA). His work in promoting sustainable place based, and Hawaiian cultural stewardship principles and practices is acknowledged locally, nationally, and internationally. Kumu Ramsay is a recognized cultural resource and sought-after keynote speaker, lecturer, trainer, and facilitator.
About Dr. Maya Soetoro
Dr. Soetoro serves as a consultant to the Obama Foundation, working closely with their international team to develop programming in the Pacific-Asia region. Prior to her work with the Obama Foundation, she was the Director of the Matsunaga Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa where, in addition to leading outreach and development initiatives, she also taught Leadership for Social Change, History of Peace Movements, Peace Education, and Conflict Management for Educators.
