March Stars Over Puna 2023

March is a month of some important planetary sign changes. This is a time of endings and new beginnings. When slow moving planets change signs, it impacts the world in power shifts between countries, governments and social systems go through big changes. This month, two powerful planets will make very noticeable shifts. Saturn has been traveling through its own two signs since Winter Solstice 2017 when it entered Capricorn. It was a period of contraction, and reduction. Saturn gives us restructuring, more regulation, and controls. It takes Saturn 2 ½ years to transit a sign. Saturn also rules Aquarius, the next sign, giving a full 5 years of Saturn strong and fully in charge after its historic conjunction with Pluto and Jupiter January of 2020.

Notice that these years were a squeeze on personal freedoms, human rights, and the world economy. On March 7, 2023, Saturn begins its transit of Pisces. Jupiter is the Traditional ruler of Pisces. Modern astrology assigns Neptune as the ruler of this water sign. Saturn loses the strength of essential dignity in Pisces. Pisces is a sign of compassion, often leaning to peace and harmony. This means that people in authority may operate from emotionally based decisions, actions may seem slippery, with a level of intrigue and suspicion. False faces, and mushy communication, and cover-ups are some of the more modern themes we see in government. Think about how water follows the path of least resistance. Saturn’s influence will spotlight “underdog” themes in society. Poverty, homelessness, social disruptions from unfair situations will need attention with compassion.

Also on March 7 is the Full Moon at 16 Virgo brings out actions toward service, helpfulness, looking for ways to improve living conditions, raising standards. The Moon is in harmonious alignment with Uranus, which activates qualities of making changes, finding resolutions, answers to problems, and sometimes causing chaos and disruptions. Uranus has been bringing out the resistance to too much Police brutality and unjust treatment of citizens. The Spring Equinox is early am on March 21 and it is the day of the New Moon which happens a few hours later. Mercury is in the Sun’s beams along with Chiron, Jupiter, and Eris. All this in Aries with the New Moon on the World point is a lot of strong, action-oriented, possibly over reactive energy to make things happen. This might raise the threat level of Russia and possibly China jumping into the War. Pluto, the planet of power and massive events, adds to the drama of this period as it enters the sign Aquarius, early am on March 23, and the Moon moves into Taurus to join Venus and Uranus. Pluto will spend 20 years in Aquarius.

Pluto’s last time in the sign was 1778-1798. It was the period of our country’s foundation and development of the idea of a Democratic government that respects Human Rights. The period of creating the Constitution, the Congress, Supreme Court, was also the during Revolutionary War. Pluto brings major changes that influence the masses. It is the energy of deep transformation. It is changing our world in this dynamic power struggle with many of the same issues being relative to the earliest times of America as a Nation. The last week of March has more clustering of planets. Mars finally leaves Gemini and moves into Cancer and blends its energy harmoniously with Saturn now in Pisces and the Moon will be in Cancer on the 28th to 30th. A Grand Trine in Water is completed by the South Node in Scorpio. These few days could be nice for family and social groups. Peace talks would be nice too, but seems unlikely. Mercury, Jupiter, Chiron are still in Aries with Sun. We could see and hear more about War, unfortunately. Mars, the ruler of Aries, now passing through Cancer, where the Sun, Venus, and Jupiter are in the USA horoscope. It can make leaders feel they have a righteous cause and be extra Bold and aggressive. It is a tense period on the world stage. These are the kind of periods where the people who are in charge of the world and what happens to us are not easily influenced off of their agenda.

Pluto’s first passage into Aquarius is only until June 11, when it retrogrades back into the last 3 degrees of Capricorn over the rest of the year. It will enter Aquarius again on January 21, 2024, the day after the next Presidential Inauguration. Pluto will continue to hug the edge of the sign cusp retrograding back again to the 29th degree of Capricorn from September 4, 2024 through November 19, 2024, when it will stay in Aquarius until 2044. Weather is still unstable this time of year. With all the emphasis of planets in water signs, we will have more water related events, like flooding and landslides. After the Sun enters Aries, it is more likely to dry up. Gardening times look better after the New Moon on the 21st. Avoid planting on the New and Full Moons. Use those times for weeding. Especially good planting in the second half of the month. Ending the Month of March on the 31st with the Moon in Leo, with Mars in a nice trine to the Sun, could be a fun weekend of family fun and April starting with a social plus. Stay positive.
