Kabbalah at the Park

Rabbi Shaya Rotenberg leads Chabad of Hilo since its founding in 2023, where he is known for his lighthearted, approachable style paired with genuine depth and insight. A graduate of the Rabbinical College of America, he completed a two year internship in Brunoy, France, and also served several Jewish communities in the U.S. as a traveling Rabbi, gaining rich experience in outreach and education. Together with his wife Hinda, he works tirelessly to foster a vibrant and inclusive Jewish community, offering support and connection to every Jew in whatever way they need.

“Our class will delve into the profound wisdom of Kabbalah, exploring its teachings and how they can bring deeper meaning and spiritual insight into our daily lives. Whether you are new to Kabbalah or have been studying for years, this class is open to everyone interested in learning and growing together.”

A delightful way to start your Monday with the flavor of Jewish Mysticism from the Kabbalah. The class setting is in the Seaview Pavillon surrounded by mango and breadfruit trees with the jungle foliage creating a meditative background. The Rabbi is an enthusiastic speaker who believes the value in studying the Kabbalah is “to deepen our appreciation and understanding of God and to better understand ourselves, as our inner design mirrors the divine design.” Rabbi Shaya closed Monday’s class with this

 Daily Spiritual Practice:

“Upon waking:

o Thought: Reflect on God’s presence.

o Speech: Verbally thank God.

o Action: Wash hands as a ritual preparation for the day.”

“You are a soul wearing the garments of thought, speech, and action — today is another chance to dress beautifully in the eyes of the Divine.”

He also shared, “In the next three classes, we will discuss the different steps that happened between G-d’s wish to create the universe and the final, physical result of that creation, and how that affects our daily lives”.
