Enhancing Uncles Kaimu Farmers Market
The Puna Strong Grant from the Hawaii Community Foundation provided funding for infrastructure improvements, mainly to cover the market grounds with beautiful red cinder.
With future funding, we plan to build a Pavilion for people to gather at the market, and to hold community education classes and events.
Our mission is to support the continuing good that Uncle Robert’s Ohana provides to the rural Puna community. We support the farmer’s market, Hawaiian sovereignty and Hawaiian culture, regenerative agriculture, wellness, education, and economic development.
With the blessing and direction of Uncle Sam Keli’iho’omalu, Uncles Kokua Center 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was founded by Michele Denise David who serves as the Secretary and Managing Director. Robert Keli’iho’omalu Jr. serves as the Board President -he is the first born son of family Patriarch Uncle Robert Keli’iho’omalu. Ana Murillo serves as a Board Director, and Rob Gonzalez serves as Treasurer.
