Activate Puna is a part of the Kīlauea Recovery and Resilience Plan, the County of Hawai‘i is launching a network of Resilience Capacity Areas and Action Teams to support community-based actions following the 2018 Kīlauea eruption. This framework is designed to empower the community, catalyze partnerships, and build capacity so that all can contribute to a shared vision of a stronger, more resilient Puna.
Resilience Capacity Areas center around the categories of Social, Cultural, Economic, Built Environment, Natural Environment, and Youth resilience. Participants, self-organized into Action Teams, work collaboratively on projects sourced from the Recovery Plan and further three strategies: Recovery, Readiness, and Community Resilience.
