PGV EIS Scoping Meeting August 17

Attention everyone who wants to malama the ‘āina.  Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV) will be holding an Environmental Impact Statement Public Scoping meeting on August 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pāhoa Community Center.

The last time PGV did an EIS was in 1987.  Since then, we’ve endured a blow-out, we’ve been gassed by hydrogen sulfide many times including during Tropical Storm Iselle, we lived through the noise of drilling and operations, and the danger of drilling into an active volcano–let’s stand up for the community and the ‘āina!

This is an opportunity to voice all your concerns about PGV expanding operations near Pāhoa.  If you show up, PGV will have to address all your concerns in the next phase of the process.  If not, they will say the community supports their plans.
