Devotional Audience at Porangui Concert including Megan and Jami

The 250+ participants at Kalani on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, were in a shamanic, rhythmic, tantric heaven for the Porangui opening night.  We all must have paid our dues in our last lifetime to be privileged to participate in this musical awakening experience. My body was surprisingly receptive to the loud music, which went into my cells and I felt tremendous healing from the vibrations.

From the opening of honoring the seven directions, with a spirited vocal invocation to the melodic closure with flutes, hand drums, and rattles, we were on a musical psychedelic roller coaster ride into the unknown. Vivid images of different moments of my life rolled across my consciousness in surprising vignettes.

The first set featured Chris Berry, singer, songwriter, and musician. He plays the mbira (thumb piano)[1] and the ngoma drum, from the Shona people of Southern Africa. He lived with the Shona people of Zimbabwe for 10 years and performed throughout 24 different countries in Africa. He is a celebrated composer and Grammy Award winner. His focus now is on playing the sacred rhythms of Africa for healing and expansion, bridging the ancient wisdom of African music to Western culture.

Accompanied by his wife and visionary co-facilitator, Ashley Klein, they extend an invitation to an embodied experience that seamlessly bridges the seen and unseen worlds. Through the universal language of music, dance, and authentic expression, Poranguí’s live, improvised performances and Ashley’s spoken guidance coalesce with captivating visual projections, promising an unparalleled odyssey that leaves us whole, alive, and deeply connected. Carrying on his lineage, Porangui lives in service to Pachamama as an artist and activist offering transformational music and healing experiences designed to awaken the body, mind, and soul.

The Sound Healing Journey Wednesday evening, March 20, was another combination of soulful beginnings with flute, hand-drum, and rattle that evoked our original origins that brought us to the mystical vibration through the “Stargate!” Parangui took us on a journey through time and space in our imagination to deliver us to a positive culmination of integration of mind, body, and spirit!

The Inspiration for this event is found in Jami Deva’s creation of his Movement Temple that is dedicated to nourishing a culture of creative expression through music & movement that honors the sacred. Curating a deeply intentional, safe and sacred space for everyone to connect; participants can play, celebrate and embody the Spirit of Love. By raising the vibration and dancing together in community, we thrive. If you’d like to learn more or join the mailing list, you can find them at  move.love

Jami Deva: “My body is my temple, Movement is my religion”

The inspiration for starting the Movement Temple came during the pandemic in 2020 when everyone was forced to stop dancing publicly.  In meditation, Jami received guidance to start a church in order to defend our first amendment rights to gather for spiritual reasons and keep dancing. Thanks to Steve Lund who was willing to provide a space for Sunday morning community service at Hawaiian Sanctuary – the ceremony consisted of starting with yoga to prepare the body temple, Opening Circle, which included a cacao ceremony that helped to open hearts and followed by an ecstatic dance, where participants experience freedom to express feelings that are held sacred. All people are accepted, regardless of faith, race, beliefs, or class. The Movement Temple creates a safe space to connect with our original guiding divinity within and surrendering to the music through movement which promotes healing, oneness, and the evolution of consciousness.

Jami has a vision to create a world wide ministry to give people a community of practitioners that facilitate spiritual transformation. He believes that breath, movement & music are the keys to unlocking human potential.

Movement + Love = Freedom

Community Altar

I encourage people to attend Jami Devi”s events as they embody all the principles in the Movement Temple  of creating a sacred space that everyone can connect, play, celebrate and embody the Spirit of Love. This concert was an astonishing journey into how music and movement can effect healing at a cellular level.
